I’ve been remiss in not posting this sooner. I listened to “indie pop rocks!” all day at work today. The good stuff.
Soma FM is a free (donations keep the station alive – so donate!) streaming radio station in San Francisco with many very cool formats (see below):
Groove Salad
A nicely chilled plate of ambient beats and grooves.
Secret Agent
The soundtrack for your stylish, mysterious, dangerous life. For Spies and PIs too!
indie pop rocks
New and your favorite classic indie pop tracks.
Space Station Soma
Tune in, turn on, space out. Spaced-out ambient and mid-tempo electronica
Illinois Street Lounge
Classic bachelor pad, playful exotica and vintage music of tomorrow.
Beat Blender
A late night blend of deep-house and downtempo chill.
cliqhop idm
Blips’n’beeps backed mostly w/beats. Intelligent Dance Music.
Drone Zone
Served best chilled, safe with most medications. Atmospheric textures with minimal beats.
Boot Liquor
Back on SomaFM! Americana roots music for Cowhands, Cowpokes and Cowtippers.
Doomed
Dark and scary industrial-inspired music for tortured souls.
Tag’s Trance Trip
Progressive house / trance. Tip top tunes.
Thanks Ticknor. Good for the days when I leave the iPod at home or in the car. Any way of finding out whats playing at any point in time?
If you listen on iTunes, it shows the song name all the time. I think they also have a list on the site (http://somafm.com).
i also recommendhttp://www.radio-indie-pop.comlotta great stuff (not all indie)…and for your reggae needshttp://www.biggupradio.comRUDEBOY!
Inide Pop Rocks is nice, though the new Illinois Street Lounge channel gets more listens on my own at-work computer there says. Sometimes, if I’m the only one in the office late at night, I listen to the Secret Agent channel, Cory Hart style.
You guys finding these on a streaming service or going direct to the URL? Post the URL’s please…Topple you da man. Good to see you back on the post train.
I really like Illinois Street Lounge for work
